Choosing the right construction company or builder can be a challenge. Whether or not you are building or renovating your first home, or your third, you’ll always want to make sure that you’re choosing the right person for the job. After all, you do have to live under the roof that they’ll be putting up!

Here are five things to look for when choosing a construction company or builder that’s right for you.

1.Reputation: Most construction company or builders pride themselves on their reputation. If a building company has a good reputation, it will last the test of time. After all, in the construction business, as with most things, the reputation you build is what will carry you forward. Read online reviews, ask others in your area, friends and family about which company they have used and what they thought of the service.

2.Qualifications: Ask questions. Talk to the construction company or builder about their service guarantees, or what their experience and qualifications are. Almost every licensed builder in Australia will have to have passed formal qualifications and Licensed builders like LimeTree Constructions have more reasons to go with them, than unlicensed builders.

3.Portfolio: Once you contact a builder you might also like to see photos from their portfolio of finished projects. They might be happy to email you, or will direct you to their company website, and from there you should be able to view their finished projects to give some idea of their previous work and experience.

4.On-Site Inspection: When you are making decisions on which building company to go with, be sure to invite any prospective builders to inspect the site. When you meet with a builder, be sure to have blueprints, designs or as much information as possible to give them about your build. It’s a good way to get a sense of what they’re like as professionals.

5.Professionalism: This is one of the most important aspects of the meeting. Honesty, upfront comm unication from the beginning of a project is crucial, and LimeTree Constructions pride themselves on this type of professionalism.

At the end of the day, choosing a construction company or builder for your project can be difficult, but hopefully you can narrow the search down even faster with this list of what to look for in a builder. Contact us today to discuss your next home renovation or building project.
